UV tanning at Sunsational Tan spans levels 2, 3, 4 and 6, from gentle base beds to high-pressure OpenSun units and luxurious beds designed by Porsche Design, with LED technology, adjustable intensities, built-in red light therapy and aromatherapy. Level availability depends on your membership, at all six of our South Hills salons.
Tanning beds are grouped into levels, usually 1 to 6. Lower levels are gentle base beds for building color slowly; higher levels use stronger lamps, and high-pressure beds deliver a deep, long-lasting bronze in shorter, less frequent sessions. Our staff match your skin type to the right level so you get a great, even tan.
How do tanning bed levels work?
At Sunsational Tan, our tanning beds are organized into four categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Titanium. Each category represents a different level of tanning technology, performance and features.
Bronze
A great choice for guests looking for a quality tanning experience at an affordable level. Ideal for maintaining a tan or getting started with a consistent tanning routine.
Silver
An upgrade in tanning performance and technology. A great choice for guests who want a more efficient session and enhanced results.
Gold
Takes your tanning to the next level with more advanced equipment and technology, integrating High Pressure facial tanners and more body lamps. Designed for guests looking for a stronger, more premium experience.
Titanium
Our most diverse and premium category. Titanium includes a variety of advanced beds, from high-pressure units for a fast, intense session to luxurious systems featuring air conditioning, aromatherapy, red light therapy and adjustable intensity. Rather than one type of bed, Titanium gives you access to our most advanced equipment and the widest range of premium features.
Higher levels aren’t simply about being stronger. Each level can differ in lamp technology, tanning intensity, session time, facial tanning and other equipment features. The best level for you depends on your skin type, tanning experience, goals and how often you tan. Not sure which to choose? Ask our team, we are happy to help.
Pennsylvania requires UV tanners to be at least 17 years old. Guests who are 17 need signed parental consent, and anyone who looks under 25 should bring a valid photo ID to verify age.
